This painting marks the beginning of the Centennial Trail Series and my new found appreciation for the more mundane plants that I see on my runs. I don’t know if they are truly rose hips. For some reason that name popped into my mind as I ran by. I started noticing the colors and textures of the jumble of weeds and natural plants along the edges of the trail, and began to see a whole new world that had gone unnoticed.
